Breast Cancer Walk from La Plaine to Boetica Hailed a Success

A Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, organized by Juliette Joseph of JJfitness, has been hailed a success. Many residents from the village of La Plaine participated in the event, joining the walk from The Jones Beaupierre School in La Plaine to the Boetica Gorge and back from 6:30 a.m on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Following the walk, a small gathering was held where retired District Nurse Joycelyn Green gave a talk on breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection. She encouraged everyone, including men, to perform self-breast examinations and the Ladies yearly mammogram.

Three survivors attended the ceremony and shared their journeys from diagnosis to treatment, offering inspiration and hope to others.

The organizer expressed her gratitude to all the sponsors and individuals who contributed to making the event a success.
