Meanwhile Head Judge, Mrs. Charlene White Christian said that this year’s competition was the hardest  yet to judge.

White commended the teachers and parents who she said did a good job in preparing the students.

She said that all the students are all winners and that the points were very close.

Further, White expressed that while a student may have been fantastic in reading the narrative piece, he may have dropped in the news or sports item or vice versa. She further remarked that what us heard is not  always what is written on the paper that sometimes the students may have missed a word, added a word or missed an entire line; although it may sound very well to the listener.

The 2021 Reading Competition was held under the theme ‘ Reading for Felix’ in honor of the late Felix Henderson who pioneered the competition many years ago.
