According to Dr. Laura Esprit, Coordinator of the Border Reopening Committee, there is one additional COVID-19 case on island bringing the total number of active cases to 4, the total number of cases to 25 and the total number of recovered cases to 21.
She said, “The traveler is a Dominican national who returned from the USA last week with a PCR test result which was deemed invalid. Swabbing was done at the secondary screening site at the Douglas Charles Airport before transfer of the traveller to the Government operated quarantine facility”.
The PCR test result came out positive and the individual was immediately transferred to the COVID-19 hospital. All travelers on the flight have been re tested.
Dr. Esprit urged individuals to be considerate of the officers who are taking calls on the COVID-19 hotline.
