PSS and DGS Emerge As Champions

At the Championship Matches on Friday, both the Portsmouth Secondary School (PSS) and Dominica Grammar School (DGS) emerged as champions in their respective leagues. The PSS successfully defended their U20 title while the DGS walked away as U15 champions.

In the U20 match against DGS, Tyson Sudre of PSS found the back of the net in 26 mins, 2 mins later Tyriq Joseph did the same with a shot that won him Best Goal of the Finals. Tyreke Jno.Baptiste scored the lone goal for the DGS in the second half.

Bill Duverne of PSS was named Best Defender while Kadimel Paul of PSS was named Most Valuable Player (MVP)

In the U15 match between DGS and Isaiah Thomas Secondary School (ITSS), the DGS emerged Champions in a game that went into penalty kicks.

Phillip Matthew of ITSS opened the scoring with Malachi Bonney of DGS scoring the equalizer. In the second half, Jude Alexander of ITSS found the back of the net and Sergio Elwin of DGS responded. The score was tied at two all at the end of the two halves.

The ITSS failed to score on 3 of their first four penalty kicks, giving DGS the win 3 goals to 1.

DGS also won all the individual prizes.

Best Defender was Dale Xavier, Best Goal in the Final went to Malachi Bonney and MVP was Dale Xavier.

All the individual prizes were sponsored by former National Goal Keeper, George Carrington.
