The Stardom tent, one of Dominica’s longest running Calypso competition opened last night with twenty two calypsonians. Among them are veterans like Intruder, Checker, Hunter and Observer, as well as a few newcomers and crowd favorites Sour Sour and Mighty DBS.
Manager of the event, Norman Letang, said that a trophy will be named after Engineer Marcel Cruickshank who passed away last year.
The show will continue on Saturday 18th January at The Strip in Lalay CoCo. Patrons are encouraged to show up in large numbers to support the art form as well as the artists.
