Since the announcement from the prime minister that Dominica was to be the first climate-resilient country in the world, efforts have been made to accomplish this feat.
Manager of the Dominica Solid Waste Corporation, Florian Mitchel is of the view that Dominica is ahead of many of its regional counterparts in fighting plastic waste.
Speaking with a local media house, Mitchel compared Dominica’s progress with other countries and said that Dominica is way ahead. Not only is there a ban on single-use plastics but also there are two specialized equipment to collect and store plastic waste.
