Two Day Workshop on GAP Requirements for Farming To Commence September 10th

The Global GAP( Good Agricultural Practice) Auditors Training Workshop hosted by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in collaboration with the Dominica Bureau of Standards (DBOS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries will begin, today, September 10th and end September 11th.

The workshop seeks to strengthen the competence and knowledge of front line extension personnel on the Global GAP Requirements and the use of the Global Gap Checklist.

The workshop is in keeping with the  DBOS efforts in re-establishing the farm certification program which involves the monitoring of the production and export of fresh agricultural products under the Fresh Produce Export Quality Control Act of 2009.

DBOS Inspectors, Ministry of Agriculture personnel and Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) employees are all expected to participate in the workshop which will be facilitated by certified GAP Auditors, Mr. Franklyn Magloire, and Mr. Norman Alexander.
