Cuban Construction Brigade to Leave Dominica

The Government and people of Dominica expressed thanks to 65 Cuban brigades who will be leaving the island. The Cubans were in Dominica to assist with recovery efforts following the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria on the country two years ago.

At a recognition ceremony, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on Wednesday, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Education, Chandler Hyacinth said that the brigade has contributed to the building of 185 homes, the recovering of 14 rooms at the Dominica State College and the construction of the Colihaut and Salisbury Primary Schools.

The Cubans were praised for their dedication and quality of work.
