We announce the Death of 92-year-old Françoise Rosa Darrou, nee Royer, of Pointe Michel, Dominica. During her later years, Rosa resided in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
She was predeceased by her children, Lawrencia Josephine Darrou and Steven Darrou; her husband, Simeon Darrou; her parents, Alma Lixia Royer and Nixon Antoine Royer; her sisters Sylina Balson, Wyndolin Zita Adrien, Alice Ann Peter, Evelyn Josephine Daniel, and Isabella Pemberton; and brothers, Turib, Henry, Martin and Michael Royer.
Rosa is survived by her granddaughter, Stephanie Pupuma in Florida; and sisters, Vilna Royer and Rosy Antia Royer of Pointe Michel, Dominica.
She is also affectionately remembered by her nieces and nephews and numerous relatives of the Royer, Daniel, Carbon, Peter, Etienne, Lugay, Charles, Thomas, Samuel, Lantan, LeBlanc, McKenzie, William, Bardouille, Anselm, Delauney, St. Hilaire, Jno Baptiste, Nordé, Balson, St. Paul, Adrien, McCoy, Darroux, Renault, James, Jean Pierre, Theodore, Dubois David, and Pemberton-Remy families.
Rosa’s close friends include Felixia and Joseph (Baba) Philbert and Family in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and Florida; as well as Debra Fust and Joseph Barilotti in Florida.
The Funeral Mass will be held at National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette, Pointe Michel, Dominica, followed by interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Friday January 31, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
