As of August 11 th 2021, the active Covid-19 cases in the Commonwealth of Dominica stands at
311, of which 159 are males and 152 are females. The infected persons fall within the age ranges
of two to eighty-eight years old.
Dr. Irving McIntyre, Minister for Health, Wellness and New Health Investment stated, “To date
there has been no deaths due to Covid-19. All symptomatic and asymptomatic cases are
clinically stable.”
He expressed that a new structure has been put in place to ensure the better management and care
of all persons admitted in the Covid-19 complex.
Dr. McIntyre commends the public for their response and participation thus far and notes that
testing will continue daily at communities around the island.
Of importance, a curfew remains in effect from 6pm to 5am Mondays to Fridays until August
17 th , whereby only essential services may be accessed. On Saturdays, there will be access to
supermarkets. A complete curfew takes effect on Saturday from 3pm to Monday at 5am.
The public is urged to continue to practice the Covid-19 safety protocols and to report any
symptoms to the Covid-19 hotlines.
