Massacre, Dominica – The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) officially launches the 2025 basketball season with the electrifying DABA Knockout Cup, tipping off on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Massacre Indoor Sports Complex.
The Knockout Cup features 17 teams — 7 Premier League clubs and 10 First Division teams — going head-to-head in a high-intensity, single-elimination format. This pre-season clash is set to captivate fans across the island with powerful performances, surprise upsets, and a bold preview of the season to come.
The championship game will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, where one team will walk away with the coveted Knockout Cup title.
Regular Season Format – Begins May 8, 2025
Following the Knockout Cup, the 2025 Regular Season will feature a total of 18 teams — with the addition of one more First Division club.
- Premier Division: 7 Clubs
- Format: Double Round-Robin (Two Full Rounds)
- First Division: 11 Clubs
- Format: Single Round-Robin (One Round)
This structure ensures a balanced and competitive season, providing ample opportunities for teams to showcase growth, depth, and championship aspirations.
