1st form Dominican student attains a grade One at CSEC Information Technology.

Leon Telemaque, of the Northeast Comprehensive School, goes on record as being the first, 1st form Dominican student to attain a grade one at CSEC Information Technology.  He received A in all profiles; Theory, Productivity Tools and Problem Solving & Programming.

He is the son of Valentine Telemaque of Wesley and Clara Charles of Kalinago Territory.

After graduating as valedictorian of the Temple SDA Primary School, Leon enrolled at Northeast Comprehensive where his love for Math, Science and Computing is evident by his participation and test scores.

When asked about his career choose, Leon indicates that he has discussed with his father the possibility of becoming a member of a future team of Dominica’s Cyber Security Task Force.  He is currently working towards certification in Python and Java Programming and intends to secure certification in other Information Communication Technology areas while attending NECS. 

Mr. Valentine Telemaque, Vice Principal at NECS encourages parents of students who demonstrate natural talents in Information Technology, to provide avenues for them to develop their skills as early as possible.  He states that Dominicans are transitioning from being predominantly consumers of ICT related products and services, towards becoming creators and providers of such.  He cites the creation and implementation of MLajan Mobile Wallet by the local credit union movement and other such home grown mobile applications as being applaudable initiatives.
