The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) will join several regional and international entities as presenters in the 2025 Hurricane Preparedness Webinar Series, to be hosted by the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat this month.

With the hurricane season rapidly approaching, the CARICOM Secretariat will host a one-hour webinar every Fridayโ€”from 9 May to 6 June 2025โ€”aimed at strengthening the preparedness of the agriculture sector of the Region. The event will be carried across all of the Secretariat’s online platforms.

The CRFM will present at this Friday’s webinar, which will focus on Disaster Preparedness for On-Farm and Sea Assets. The highlight of this webinar will be the presentations on strategies to protect farm equipment, boats and critical infrastructure, as well as measures to secure input supplies and essential resources.

During the first webinar, the CRFM’s presentation will provide critical data on hurricane impacts on the sector, as well as the CRFM’s role in shaping strategies for boosting preparedness, resilience, and recovery.

We look forward to seeing you online on Friday, May 9, as we build synergies and strengthen our networking with other presenters from partner organizations, including the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Safety Agency (CAHFSA), Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
