The Youth Development Division of the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development will host its Short Course Certificate Ceremony on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 2:30 PM, at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital Amphitheatre.
The event will celebrate the achievements of more than one hundred (100) young people who have successfully completed a series of eight-week training programmes across the island.
Delivered between November 2024 and November 2025, the short courses were designed to equip young people ages 16 to 35 with practical, marketable skills to support employability, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Training was offered free of charge and spanned seven communities, with one programme conducted fully online to ensure accessibility.
Participants will be recognized for completing one of nine specialized training areas:
All programmes also included weekly Soft Skills Sessions covering communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, work culture readiness, leadership presence, stress management and time management—ensuring a holistic approach to youth development.
As in previous cycles, the Division anticipates that many graduates will use their newly acquired skills to pursue entrepreneurial ventures, secure employment, or progress to higher-level training opportunities.
The Youth Development Division, in keeping with its mandate, will continue to expand opportunities for young people through initiatives such as the Digital Literacy & Work Readiness Programme, the Heavy Equipment & Truck Operations Programme, and community-based leadership and life skills training.
The Division looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of this year’s Short Course graduates and reaffirms its commitment to supporting youth empowerment across Dominica.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
