The Prime Minister of Dominica renewed plans to build an international airport. He said that the airport has to be built especially in light of all the investments being made in Tourism.
He revealed that just before the impact of COVID-19, a firm in China was ready to come to Dominica to begin the final geotechnical studies. The Prime Minister hopes that once borders are open, the technical team can travel to Dominica to do its final studies which would include determining soil composition in the Wesley area.
Further, the PM said that land acquisition has already begun and payments to landowners will be made.The Prime Minister said that the airport is a national priority as it is critical for Dominica’s tourism and wider economy.
