The West Coast Cooperative Credit Union commensurated their new Pottersville Branch through a grand opening ceremony at its new location at 19/20 Elliot Avenue, Pottersville on Saturday 3rd June, 2023. The ceremony started with an opening prayer by Fr Conan Shillingford and followed through with different remarks by different members of the Credit union committee.
Historically, the WCCU LTD is a merger between the credit unions of Salisbury, St. Joseph and Colihaut which was done with the view of being the sole credible choice for membership on the West Central Coast and Dominica by extension.
The chairperson of the Credit Union Committee explained that the WCCU Ltd is a well capitalized institution with a wealth of assets over 58 million dollars coupled with a membership of over 5,000.
The WCCU Ltd averred that the drive behind their new location was encouraged by the plight of the members of the WCCU ltd and they embarked on a solution to cater to the services of their members by establishing a new branch in Pottersville.
The WCCU ltd officially opened their doors on Monday 5th June, 2023 and boasts that all service of the main branch will be offered at this new location. The WCCU Ltd hopes to bolster economic activity in the Pottersville area and posits that they have many more plans on the horizon for their members.
