Emonews has been informed of a fatal accident involving an uncle and nephew from Goodhope.

One of the deceased has been identified as 58 year old Pierre Labasiere, while the other is his nephew, 26 year old Pierson Labassiere.

Initial reports indicate that the two men had left the village about 9 AM for Roseau and had not been heard from later that day.

A Police investigation revealed that the vehicle driven by Labasiere had plunged more than 100ft into a precipice in an area between Springfield and Sylvania known as Red Gully.
