Twenty-two (22) people who completed a basic beekeeping training in May 2019, were presented with Certificates of Completion and bee-keeping start-up tools and equipment at a closing ceremony on Friday 15th November at the Public Service Union Conference Room. Among the recipients were 9 females and 13 males which included 3 secondary school Agriculture students.
The training programme was funded by the UNDP GEF-SGP as a component of a project to support youth in agriculture and beekeeping being implemented in collaboration with the National 4H Local Leaders Association. The course which was facilitated by experienced bee-keeper Michal Lanns, included theory and practical session.
Remarks were given by the course facilitator, and one-course participant, the National Coordinator and a member of the National Steering Committee of the GEF SGP, and Luis Francisco Thais, Head of UNDP Dominica Project Office.
Participants were encouraged the recently trained bee-keepers to go out and share the knowledge and skills to encourage others to get involved in the Apiculture Industry. They were also advised that they should not remain practising as keepers of bees but be active bee-keepers and move to be successful entrepreneurs involved in related aspects of business

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
