A peaceful protest which was organized by the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) of Dominica today, December 15, ended in a cloud of tear gas.
The event which was staged to highlight the lack of reform in the electoral process of Dominica was attended by a large number of hardened advocates for reform and was addressed by several opposition parliamentarians, including the leader of the parliamentary opposition, Lennox Linton.
An official from the Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) and other civic leaders also addressed the gathering which was staged in an area on Castle Street in Roseau, close to the McMillan’s Filling Station.
Emonews will have further details in a follow-up news item.
CCM had earlier announced that protest actions would continue on Monday, December 17.
