Protest Action In Portsmouth

Bus drivers from the community of Portsmouth on Monday parked their buses in protest action against the stimulus package proposed from the Government.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit announced that a loan facility with an interest rate of one percent was set up at the AID bank to benefit small businesses which would include bus drivers.

According to one bus driver who spoke to Emonews, the loan facility is added debt as many bus drivers are already paying loans for their buses. Another bus driver commented that many of the bus drivers do not have the paperwork to access the loan facility at the AID bank. A third bus driver remarked that something was promised and it needs to be delivered.
