The colloquial pink shoes have been worn by the Prime Minister and Dominicans will go to the polls on December 6, 2019, to elect a Government for the next five years.

Since the Prime Minister announced some weeks ago, that Dominicans would go to the polls within 100 days, many persons speculated that elections in December would be quite possible.

This upcoming election is one to look out for as the Roosevelt Skerrit administration seeks a fourth term in office. Should the Opposition leader fail to lead his party to victory, it would have been his second loss requiring him to step down as party leader.

The campaign for the upcoming elections has seen unrivalled spending in the launching of candidates as well as numerous allegations of corruption and calls for electoral reform.

Parliament is to be dissolved on November 6 and on November 19, the candidates contesting the elections will file their nominations paper. This is known as Nomination Day.

The Prime Minister made the announcement at a Labour Got Talent Event at Goodwill.
