As part of ongoing community engagement and project monitoring efforts, representatives from DOWASCO, the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF), and the Consultant Representative from CEAC Solutions Company Ltd. met with the Parliamentary Representative, the Paix-Bouche Village Council and other key community members, on Thursday August 7 to discuss the progress of the Paix-Bouche Water Enhancement Project.
This major infrastructure project, valued at EC$2.1 million (Vat Included) under the BNTF-10 initiative, is designed to significantly improve water supply reliability and efficiency for Paix-Bouche and neighbouring communities, including Dos D’Ane, Borne, and Thibaud.
The project includes several key components:
Construction of a new 60,000-gallon water storage tank in Moore Park – now fully completed.
Construction of new intake on the Grand Riviere, which is nearing completion.
Access road to the intake, which is almost finished
Installation of new high-capacity pumps, expected to take place shortly.
Laying of 1,700 feet of new pipelines to improve water distribution across higher elevations in the community – completed.
The project is progressing well and remains on schedule for completion by the end of August 2025. Once finalized, it will quadruple the water storage capacity for the area and greatly reduce service interruptions, especially during heavy rainfall or maintenance periods. It will also facilitate future housing development in the Moore Park area by increasing water access and reliability.
DOWASCO, BNTF and CEAC expressed their appreciation to residents and stakeholders for their continued patience and support during the construction phase and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a high-quality water system that meets the needs of the Paix-Bouche community and surrounding areas.
