The Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development, the Cultural Division, and the National Cultural Council are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Golden Drum Awards, Dominica’s highest national recognition for excellence and outstanding contribution in the field of culture.
The Golden Drum Awards recognize and celebrate individuals, groups, and institutions whose dedication and service have contributed significantly to the preservation, promotion, and development of Dominica’s rich cultural heritage.
Nominations are invited in the following categories:
Golden Drum Award
Presented to individuals who have made a positive and impactful contribution to Dominica’s culture and who have demonstrated at least twenty (20) years of involvement in the field of culture.
Special Recognition Award
Presented to individuals, groups, or institutions with less than twenty (20) years of cultural contribution, or those who have achieved notable success in a specific cultural field.
“Building A Resilient Public Service- A Collective Response”
Nominees must be Dominican citizens. Self-nominations will not be accepted, and all nominations must be accompanied by the required supporting documentation.

Physical nomination forms are also available from the Cultural Division at the Old Mill Cultural Centre.
The deadline for submissions is June 30, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
