No confidence motion against St Kitts-Nevis PM set for debate on Monday

BASSETERRE, St Kitts (WINN) — The speaker of the St Kitts and Nevis National Assembly has set Christmas Eve as the date to debate the opposition’s motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris.

During a sitting of parliament on Wednesday, Speaker of the House, Michael Perkins, informed of the special sitting of the National Assembly on Monday, December 24, at 1:00 pm to hear the motion.

Opposition leader Dr Denzil Douglas filed a motion of no confidence in Harris and the government on the evening of December 11, when the National Assembly was set to convene the next day for the 2019 budget address. He is accusing the Prime Minister of acts of corruption, nepotism and political intimidation among other things.
