Roseau, Dominica – On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) and the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) formally launched a two-year partnership that will deliver sustained support for Dominica’s cultural, tourism, and community development agenda. This collaboration goes beyond sponsorship, encompassing both financial and in-kind support, and will ensure greater investment in flagship national events as well as community-driven initiatives across the island.
As part of this broader commitment, NBD’s first major engagement under the partnership will be as the Premium Bank Sponsor of the 25th edition of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF).
Speaking at the official press conference, Michelle Joseph, Marketing Manager of NBD, described the partnership as an extension of the Bank’s role in nation building:
“This partnership positions NBD not just as a bank, but as a true partner in nation building – standing firmly behind the events that bring us together and move us forward,” Joseph remarked.
To commemorate the festival’s 25th anniversary, NBD launched its Grand Independence Promotion – “25 Years, 25 Big Wins.”
• Every NBD credit card purchase or new sign-up provides an automatic chance to win one of 25 prizes, including cash, festival tickets, and exclusive NBD-branded items.
• All entries qualify for the Grand Cash Prize of EC$2,500, to be awarded in November.
The two-year partnership guarantees NBD’s support not only for the World Creole Music Festival but also for Mas Dominik, Jazz and Creole, Ti Vilaj Kwéyòl, Breakfast Fete, community carnival, and other cultural events.
NBD will also collaborate with fringe events such as Rize and Whine and White Sunset, where patrons can enjoy interactive “Scan & Win $250” promotions at NBD lounges and QR stations.
In addition, NBD is proud to sponsor the WCMF Art Gallery, an initiative in partnership with NexConnex, showcasing the work of Dominican artisans and MSMEs. With NBD POS

machines available on-site, festival-goers will be able to purchase local art seamlessly, ensuring direct support for local creators.
Joseph emphasized that the sponsorship reflects NBD’s broader commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles:
“This is more than sponsorship. This is partnership in action – culture, community, and commerce working together, with NBD as the bridge.”
As Dominica approaches its Independence celebrations, this two-year collaboration signals NBD’s sustained commitment to uplifting cultural heritage, empowering small businesses, and strengthening community bonds.
