Health Minister, Dr.Irving McIntyre confirmed that a specialist from the Center for Disease Control is on island to begin training health officials to test for the Coronavirus.

He said, “Incidentally while we are doing training for the Coronavirus, we are also doing the training in the Gene expert technology which is what we are going to use to help us in diagnosing Tuberculosis”.

The Minister said that when the training is completed a process of validation will begin then one can go on to test for the virus.

The Minister said that Dominica is the second country in the region, next to Trinidad, who will be able to perform testing for the deadly Coronavirus.
