Mayma Raphael ,Stewart Raphael, Marva Telemaque , Maureen Massicot and Carlton Francis have all continued in their family’s footsteps in giving back to the community of Thibaud.
The sisters have donated five Chromebook laptops to their Alma Mater, the Thibaud Primary School.
They said, “We wanted to donate the laptops to provide access to the internet and technology tools to help expose them(the students) to an environment that is shaping their future. Knowledge of technology and engagement with same is a very important asset to help level the playing field for our kids and help change their trajectory.
“They said that this is just the beginning of their giving back to the school.
“Our goal for the kids is one-to-one computers and we will continue to provide resources to get all the kids of Thibaud coding.”
School principal, Kisha Remie, is thankful for the donation which will be utilized in many different ways by both teachers and students.”There are so many interactive games which may be played on the computers which will make learning fun as we try to move away from the chalk and talk era.
These computers will also aid in the preparation of lessons.
Students will be able to complete assignments online, work on self correcting tasks and most importantly use them to research topics taught in the classrooms.
We are hoping to build students who are able to cope in the wider world. We are therefore setting a foundation for these primary school students.”
