A well known Calypsonian is now on remand at the Dominica State Prison after the charge of Unlawful Sexual Intercourse was preferred against him.

By virtue of Section 38 (1) and 38(2) of the Sexual Offences Act, the name of the calypsonian cannot be publicized at this stage.

After the charges were read, the Calypsonian was not required to enter a plea as this matter is an indictable offence to be tried at the High Court. Bail was not objected to however the Calypsonian did not have a suitable surety present at court.
