The Forestry, Wildlife and Parks Division of the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernisation, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Upliftment, wishes to inform the general public that the hunting season is now opened for the period September 23rd, 2025 to December 31st, 2025 for persons in possession of a valid hunting license.
The sale and possible limited export of wildlife or parts thereof shall be permitted from September 23rd, 2025 to January 31st, 2026. Exportation will only be granted to persons with a valid wildlife export permit. Beyond such period, persons found selling and exporting wildlife including parts thereof shall be prosecuted by law and face a fine of five thousand dollars (XCD 5,000) per offence.
During this period, licensed hunters may hunt Crabs, (all members of the Gercarcinidae family), Agouti, and Manicou (Opossum) only.
The general public is reminded that it is an offence under the Forestry & Wildlife Act to hunt or fish in freshwater streams without a valid licence and that the hunting of all other species of animal, including all Frogs, all Birds, all Snakes, and Iguanas is strictly prohibited. Persons who engage in any form of hunting or fishing without valid documentation are liable to a fine of two thousand five hundred dollars (XCD 2,500) per offence.
The public is therefore advised that beginning September 23rd, 2025, hunting licenses and export permits may be purchased at the office of the Forestry, Wildlife
and Parks Division on the Windsor Park Link Road, and at the Sub-Treasuries in Portsmouth and Marigot.
