Guyana’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., has encouraged the national Under-19 cricket team to remain committed to training and discipline as they prepare for the upcoming Regional Under-19 50-over Tournament in Antigua.
The Minister delivered the message during a recent visit to the newly constructed Anna Regina National Stadium, where the squad has been conducting training sessions ahead of the competition, which runs from July 7 to 23.
Addressing the young cricketers, Ramson Jr. stressed that talent alone is not enough to succeed at the regional level and emphasized the importance of consistent, purposeful practice and dedication.
The squad, led by captain Parmeshwar Ram and vice-captain Romario Ramdeholl, is currently undergoing intensive preparations under the guidance of Head Coach Kumar Bishundial, assistant coach Antony Adams, and team manager Nazeer Mohamed.
Officials remain optimistic that the team’s hard work and preparation will position them for a strong showing at the regional tournament in Antigua.
