GOVERNMENT OF DOMINICA TO PRESENT MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARDS AS PART OF INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATIONS 2021

(OPM) – The Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica will present Meritorious Service Awards to individuals and groups on 3rd November, as part of activities to mark Dominica’s 43rd Anniversary of Independence.

This year, the United Nations Development Programme will receive the country’s highest award, the Dominica Award of Honour. Her Excellency Loreen Bannis Roberts, Mr. Paul Ainsley Green and the Maria Holder Memorial Trust will receive the Sisserou Award of Honour.

Mrs. Rosemund Edwards, Mrs. Regina Joseph, Mr. Hasselt Williams, Mr. Richard Letang and the COVID-19 Response Team-Health, Police, Fire and Ambulance, the Dominica Air & Seaport Authority (DASPA) and Customs- will receive the Meritorious Service Award.

Mr. Kelvin Francis, Mrs. Loranna Jno Baptiste, Mr. Oliver St. John, and Mr. Peterson Bardouille will receive the Services Medal of Honour; and Mrs. Veronica Cuffy, Mr. Anthony Richards, Mr. Vivian Thomas and Mr. Charles Richards will receive the Long Service Award.

The awards will be handed out on Wednesday, November 03, 2021 at the Independence Day ceremony to be held at the Conference Center of the State House from 3:00 p.m.
