Eastern Turkey struck by a 6.8 earthquake

The epicentre of the earthquake has been confirmed to have occurred in Doğanyol, Malatya, Turkey according to USGS.

Seismologists believe the quake originated 6 miles (10km) under the ground.

The quake is believed to have struck at 8.55pm local time (5.55pm GMT).

Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority confirmed that the dealt toll has risen to 14.
