Dominican Cuba Friendship Association (DCFA) will be having a motorcade rally to support the international movement to lift the economic blockade against Cuba

This Saturday, as part of the international movement to lift the economic blockade against Cuba the Dominican Cuba Friendship Association (DCFA) will be having a motorcade rally to support the country.

The United States embargo against Cuba prevents American businesses, and businesses organized under U.S. law or majority-owned by American citizens, from conducting trade with Cuban interests. It is the most enduring trade embargo in modern history.

The motorcades will start at the Bayfront by the cruise ship birth area from 3pm and will follow a designated route and end up at the Bayfront where a solidarity rally will be held.

Chairman of the Dominica Reparations Committee, Dr. Damian Dublin said in a press statement that at the rally, solidarity messages will be heard from various individuals who have graduated and benefited from Cuba in one way or another.

“We are asking all to come and show their support. We know Cuba has played a very important role in the development of the human resource in our Island and in most of the Caribbean islands. We know that Cuba’s role in providing medical attention to the world has been recognized,” he said

He staed it was Cuba who sent troops to Africa, to help liberate persons and also sent doctors in all over the world during this COVID pandemics to help “stem the tide”.

“Cuba is going through serious troubles because of this inhumane economic blockade imposed about 60 years ago. We think it’s a just and ethical struggle and a call for all who believe in human rights to join this activity of solidarity,” Dublin said.

The United Nations (UN) has, for the 29th consecutive time called for a resolution to lift this economic and commercial blockade against Cuba.
