Dominica launches Staycation 2021 promotions as part of Tourism Awareness month of activities. For the past nine years Discover Dominica Authority has been working with tourism service providers in providing staycation specials. For 2021, a total of 9 properties and 4 tour operators have provided incentives to locals who wish to take part in Staycation 2021.
All participating properties and tour operators are Nature Island Standards of Excellence (NISE) Certified along with being Covid-19 certified with the Environmental Health Department through established health and safety protocols.
Dominicans are encouraged to explore Dominica and experience the Nature Island with these staycation packages at one of the participating properties and tour operators, offering a variety of destination tours. In addition, all are invited to take advantage of the opened restaurants, cafes, bars, and hang out spots island-wide, which prove to be an exciting opportunity to enjoy the island’s local delicacies.
Director of Tourism, Colin Piper says he hopes that Staycation 2021 can continue with the momentum of Staycation 2020 which saw high numbers of participation at all levels. He informed that Staycation offers that unique opportunity for nationals and returning nationals alike to experience the island’s varied tourism product.
