Death announcement of Theresa ‘Dagma’ James, née Lafond, aged 78, a beloved resident of Campbell who was originally from Tete Morne, Grand Bay.

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Theresa ‘Dagma’ James, née Lafond, aged 78, a beloved resident of Campbell who was originally from Tete Morne, Grand Bay. Theresa peacefully departed this life on Saturday, March 7th, 2026.

She leaves to cherish her memory her:

Husband: Oliver James
Daughters: Carolyn Paul, Heserlyn Shillingford-Anthony
Son: McRonald James
Son-in-law: Elkin Anthony

Sisters: Baba Lafond, Sonia Lafond, Maudrina Austrie, Fatima Funeus, Gene Lafond, and Rose Ann Lafond
Brothers: Hendrickson Boyd and Claudius Lafond

Grandchildren: Lester, Jord, Kisha, and Kimisha
Great-grandchildren: Isabella and Brianna

Nieces: Lily, Gloria, Royette, Vernise, Sherma, Sabrina, Sharon, Cilma, Kendra, Karen, Gizianne, and others dear to her
Nephews: Richardson, Hyghner, Kervin, Brandon, Bryan, Pierre-Claude, Steve, Craig, Geoffrey, and many others

Godchildren: Ronald, Claris, and Clarissa

She is also lovingly remembered by her close friends Helen, Dentil, Manuel, Claudia, and Rudolphia and family

Nurse Esprit and the staff of Agape Care Nursing Home 

Extended family members: Amanda, Talicia, Natasha, Nekelle, Jay, Ermine Bertrand and family, the Lafond, Jean Francois, and Dangleben families, Faith Stuart and family, along with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

As a dedicated nurse, Theresa served and touched the lives of many throughout Campbell, Despor, Warner, Cochrane, Mahaut, Grandfond, Riviere Cyrique, and Petite Savanne. Her compassion, humility, and commitment to caring for others will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral Arrangements

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Theresa’s life and pay their final respects on Friday, March 13th, 2026.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM
Location: Canefield Catholic Church

Interment: Mahaut Cemetery
