We announce the death of Ruth Margret Blanc (née Tuitt), affectionately known as Ma Blanc. Ma Blanc was born on March 27, 1934, in Roseau near what is now the Mahaut/Canefield Bus Terminal. She died on Sunday 11th June, 2023 at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital.
Among many things, including her love of carnival, her love for her country, and being a part of The Windrush Generation an important chapter in UK history. Ma Blanc will also be remembered for the lifetime of joy and love that she shared with her family, friends, community, and country. She grew up with the music in her ears, she took that music with her everywhere that she went.
She will be remembered by her daughter Carol Blanc, and five sons, Darran Peters (aka Darryl), Glenford Blanc, Gibson Blanc, Kitwana Tchetab (aka Glennis Blanc), and Jamal Blanc (aka Roger).

The funeral service will take place on Tuesday 20th June, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Roseau Roman Catholic Cathedral and followed by interment at the Cathedra Catholic Cemetery.
