It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Maria Anthina Thomas of St.Joseph. She departed this life on July 27th 2025 at the age of 79 at her residence in St. Joseph
Anthina was a cherished member of the community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind:
● 2 sons; Robert Phillip and Morris John in Antigua
● 3 daughters; Judy Phillip Bethelmie, Juliette James in Antigua and Marcella Boatswain
● 1 adopted daughter; Michelle Luke
● 4 brothers; Phils, Raleigh, Tutuwaynes and Tim Thomas all in Dominica ● 2 sisters; Martha Thomas in Guadeloupe and Dicta Thomas in Wesley ● 10 grand children including Larry in Germany, Junior in New York, Justin
and Tassa in Florida, and Joshua in Antigua, Gydon, Jace, Curvel, Denzel, Kayha, all in Dominica
● 12 great grand children including Kiriah, Indel, Zuriah, Ahiyah, Kareem and Ebony
● Many nephews including Jacob and John Liverpool in Roseau and Mano in Wesley
● Many nieces including Theresa Williams, Marisia Thomas in St. Croix, Vincia Thomas in St. Joseph, and Kay kay and June in Roseau. ● Many grandnieces and grandnephews too numerous to mention ● In laws Plaina, Delah, and Prince
● Close cousins June Blanc and family, Cesarina Merifield and family, all the Thomas and James family in St. Joseph and Grandbay
● Close friends and family; the Common family of St. Joseph including Teefee and Tutu, Getrude and family, Corin King in St.Croix, Philia Prosper, Alex Brade in New York, Gloria Philip in New York, Jovel and family, Kendra Richards and family, Annie, Ingrid Pierre and family, Vignette, Angel, Pride, Who-who, Baham, Bowdel and The Honourable Daron Lloyd
● Neighbors; Jubay, Imani, Porchance, Bor, Kendra and Adis King and family, Tinnie, Paula, Avril, Moosi, and Latigue
● Caretaker; Theresa Williams
● Members of the St. Joseph Catholic church including Father Joseph, Rigsby, Olive, and Diane, members of the 7th Day Adventist Church in St. Joseph, nurses and doctors of the St. Joseph Health Centre and the entire community of St. Joseph
● Other relatives, friends and neighbours too numerous to mention.
The funeral service to celebrate the life of Maria Anthina Thomas will be held on Saturday August 30th at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Viewing takes place at 2:30pm followed by service at 3:00pm. The body will be laid to rest at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
