(IOM)-The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Planning, Vocational Training & National Excellence, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have announced a one-week extension of the deadline for the MIGRATION MATTERS Creative Competition. Originally, all entries were to have been submitted by Tuesday 8 March, however after an appeal from some teachers, based on the disruption in routines due to this week’s return to face-to-face classes, the organizers have agreed to extend the deadline for submission of entries to Tuesday 15 March 2022.
The MIGRATION MATTERS Creative Competition offers FIVE cash prizes of EC$500 each in three competition categories.
The Ministry of Education has provided detailed guidelines on participation through all schools across the island. Interested students can also follow the social media pages of the Ministry of Education and IOM Dominica for details.
This competition is a continuation of recent collaborations between the Ministry of Education and the IOM, to involve young people in the discussion about the impacts of migration, opportunities and challenges associated with regular and irregular migration. The MIGRATION MATTERS Creative Competition is supported with funding from the IOM Development Fund (IDF), to encourage public information and discussion under a capacity-building initiative to enhance the Border Management Capacity of the Government of Dominica.
