Child Protection Unit Holds Candle Light Vigil

The Child Abuse Prevention Unit of the Social Services and Welfare Division held a candlelight vigil in support of victims of child abuse.

Coordinator (Ag) of the Child Abuse Prevention Unit said that the purpose of the vigil was to send a clear message that child abuse is wrong and will not be tolerated in Dominica.

There were riveting performances by the young people including poems, songs, and dance. Monseigneur Jno. Lewis encouraged all to nurture the beauty in children and refrain from damaging that beauty by acts of abuse.

Members of the public including former teachers, members of the Bar Association and national cyclist, Bram Sanderson came out in full support of the vigil.
