A four-time Junior Monarch, a new-comer and a former monarch are among the list of calypsonians who will compete at the semifinal round of the Dominica Calypso Association (DCA) which is carded for February 16, 2019.

Calypso patrons converged on the National Stadium Forecourt last Saturday evening to witness the battle for 20 out of 34 places, and when the dust was settled: Webb, Dice, Intruder, Karessah, Black Diamond, Observer, Hunter, Scrunter, Lugarz, Jaydee, Jamma B, Tronada, Tasha P, Checko, Checker, Sye, Shadow Flow, Healer and newcomers Danyan and Irish Kid survived.

The top-20 will battle for the 9 final places to come up against the reigning monarch, ‘The Bobb,’ who will also perform as a guest at the semifinals. Emonews will keep you updated with the unfolding calypso and carnival developments.
