Big Wins Over The Weekend For Thibaud Primary and St. Mary’s Academy

The Thibaud Primary School represented by Najah Georges walked away with the 2023 Carnival Princess Show Crown.

“I was confident in myself”, said Georges when asked whether she thought that she was going to win. She expressed thanks to all those who came out in large numbers to support her.

Georges, who was the third contestant in the competition, won the award for People’s Choice and Best in Costume.

1st Runner Up position went to Zaheer Toussaint of the Roseau Primary who copped the title of

Miss Photogenic.

Dernisha Darrou

The 2nd Runner up is Dernisha Darroux of the Goodwill Primary School. She won the award for Best Talent.

Eliz Charles of the Wills Strathmore Stevens Primary School won the title of Best in Party Wear and Miss Intelligence while Mikayla Christmas of  St. Martin Primary was named Miss Congeniality.

Meanwhile, in the first ever Junior Calypso- Bouyon Monarch organized by the Leo club of Dominica, Mighty T and Dj Siah were Victors.

In the Calypso section, the 3rd runner up was Jairah George (Mighty Jairah) of the Roosevelt Douglas Primary School, the 2nd runner up was DeAndre Rolle (De Legend) of the Pioneer Preparatory School and Ojahro Philbert (Mighty Kai) of the Dominica Grammar School was the 1st Runner Up. Tyce Faustin (Mighty T) of the St.Mary’s  Academy was declared the winner. His song is entitled ‘I want to go Overseas ‘.

In the Bouyon section, the 3rd Runner Up was Quan Bunche (Quandary) of the Dominica Community High School, 2nd Runner Up was DeAndre Darroux (Dre) of the Pierre Charles Secondary School and the 1st Runner Up was Dane John (Dwavete) of the Dominica Gramma School.  11 year old Josiah Fagan ( Dj Siah) of the St. Mary’s Primary was declared winner. His song was ‘Bring back the Bouyon’.Emonews congratulates the brave young ladies and young men who took part in the competitions. You are all winners.
