Air Antilles have Added New Routes and Additional Seats into Dominica

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Air Access Committee of Discover Dominica Authority have successfully negotiated new routes and additional seats into the destination from Guadeloupe and Martinique on new flights added by Air Antilles.  The flights will commence on October 25, 2019, on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Guadeloupe and on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from Martinique.

The first new route will see flights depart from PTP at 4:25 pm to Canefield four times weekly on a 19 seat Twin Otter.  This flight is conveniently timed to connect with flights from three airlines from France, including Air France, Air Caraibes and Corsair; and the JetBlue flights from JFK into PTP.  The outbound will depart Canefield at 5:15 pm and connect with the second bank of flights to France with onward connections to the European continent.

Dominica will receive increased air service from the FWI via its ATR service from PTP with onward connections to SXM and SJU in the morning and returning in the late afternoon/early evening.  This service is usually four times weekly but has been increased to a frequency of seven times weekly over the summer and into the winter season.

The second new route emanates from this service, with a three times weekly flight departing FDF, Martinique to Douglas Charles with onward connections to SXM and SJU. FDF Martinique has been added as a new city-pair to this service.  This flight will be on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

With the introduction of this new service, travelers to Dominica will benefit by having same-day connections and choice of hubs from which to come into Dominica as well as a choice of airports within Dominica to fly in and out of.  Canefield operations will be increased by four flights weekly or 76 seats.  While 144 seats will be reallocated to FDF weekly offering a new route and service to travelers. With the increase in service to 7X weekly to St, Maarten, Dominica will increase its annual seat capacity by 11,440 seats.

Tour Operators, travel agents and consumers already have visibility of these flight in the Global Distribution System (GDS) and on popular online travel agent sites allowing for a myriad of ways to book your adventure to Dominica.  Furthermore, Air France will offer a codeshare with Air Antilles on these flights allowing for greater visibility of the flights on the Air France website and network and offering travelers additional benefits of that codeshare arrangement.

Leisure visitors, as well as Dominicans residing abroad, are expected to take advantage of this new service when planning their travels to the Nature Isle.
