ACL Teachers Receive Special Education Training in Barbados

Teachers from the Achievement Learning Center completed a ten-day workshop for Special Education educators in Barbados. The workshop was held in collaboration with Sunshine Early Stimulation Centre, and My Child & I Charity, and was held at the Derrick Smith School and Vocational Centre in Jackmans, St. Michael.

The training was made possible by the Maria Holder Memorial Trust, Dominica-America Relief & Development Association (DARDA), and the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust.

Founder of ACL and one of the participants, Beverly LeBlanc said that the training is important as they seek to develop their skills to cater to an increase in enrolment.

ACL was founded in 2011 and caters to children in need of special education instruction. The goal of the institution is to expose students to the knowledge and skills that will allow them to make a meaningful contribution to society.
