SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey (23 Apr 2025) – ADNExUS has announced the launch of a new scholarship programme designed specifically to support students of Dominican descent pursuing higher education. Applications are now being accepted for the 2025/26 academic year, with scholarship awards of up to US$2,500 available to eligible candidates. Interested students are asked to complete the application form by clicking on the following link: https://forms.gle/Y5wSJAwoggLYNQfk6.
The programme aims to provide financial assistance to highly motivated students who demonstrate leadership skills, community involvement, and a commitment to furthering their education at accredited tertiary institutions. Successful applicants will receive funds to cover tuition and books, with payments made directly to their educational institutions.
“Education is the cornerstone of personal growth and community development,” said Sylma Brown, the president of ADNExUS. “Through this scholarship programme, we’re not only investing in individual students but in the future of our wider Dominican community. We believe that by empowering these young people academically, we’re helping to create the next generation of leaders who will drive positive change.”
The scholarship includes an innovative “Pay It Forward” component, requiring recipients to contribute to ADNExUS community initiatives and fundraising efforts, ensuring the sustainability of the programme for future beneficiaries.
“What makes this programme truly special is its cyclical nature,” Brown explained. “Today’s scholarship recipients become tomorrow’s community champions, creating a powerful network of support and mentorship. When students return to contribute their talents and energy to our initiatives, they help strengthen the very programme that supported them, whilst developing valuable leadership skills for their own futures.”
Applicants must be of Dominican descent, demonstrate financial need, and have already secured acceptance to an accredited tertiary institution. They can be based in Dominica or abroad. The application process requires submission of reference letters, a personal statement, and evidence of leadership and community involvement.
The deadline for applications is 20 June 2025, with successful candidates to be notified by 15 July 2025.
For further information, interested students should contact Sylma Brown at [email protected] or telephone 917-593-6267.
