RISK OFFICER
The National Co-operative Credit Union (NCCU) Ltd invites suitably qualified applications to fill the position of Risk Officer. Reporting to the Compliance and Risk Manager, the Risk Officer, will coordinate across all services and operations of the NCCU Ltd, to assist in the identification, monitoring, and reporting of risks, inclusive of, but not limited to credit, information and operational risk throughout the NCCU Ltd,
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Development of risk policies and procedures to guide the operations of the NCCU Ltd
- Overseeing the NCCU Ltd’s information and data security
- Analyzing the quality and content of a member or prospect’s financial reports and establishing the appropriate document required to accurately evaluate the financial status of the member or customer.
- Undertaking analytics to support key strategic initiatives for growth, innovation, or risk mitigation
- Development and implementation of quantitative credit risk strategies across the member lifecycle for all business transactions, and integrate member level risk scores into decision making points
- Conduct and update institutional risk assessments and risk registers
- Assisting with the development of Business Continuity, Risk and Information Security strategy plans, programs, policies, and processes
(1) QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Risk Management, Project Management or a related field,
- Certified training in Anti-money Laundering
- Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Analytics, or in a related quantitative discipline
- A minimum for five (5) years experience responsible for risk management
- A working knowledge of credit risk modeling/analytics, credit risk portfolio management, or credit risk strategy development.
- Hands-on experience in developing segmentation models using statistical methods
- Knowledge of and experience in the use of microcomputers and software applications, particularly of financial and spreadsheet practices
- Knowledge of Cooperative principles and applicable legislations would be an asset.

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- Proven experience in planning, motivating, organizing and coordinating programmes
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good public relations and presentation skills
(3) REMUNERATION PACKAGE
The remuneration package comprising, salary and allowances is negotiable.
(4) EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
a) Employment will be on a contractual basis of two (2) years in the first instance.
