IsraAID Dominica is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Business Training programme for small enterprises in Grandbay. This extensive training initiative took place from August 8th to September 14th, 2023, and covered mainly the development of business plans. It also included specialized segments on Disaster Risk Reduction and business continuity, as well as a module on Psychosocial Support. This training has equipped over 18 participants with the vital knowledge and skills required to navigate potential risks and challenges effectively.
Remarks were made by the Country Director, Senior Livelihoods Officer and Senior Livelihoods Facilitator at IsraAID, who all recognized the hard work, dedication and resilience of the small business owners. Keynote speaker, Mr. Kerwin Jno Baptiste, Executive Director of the Dominica Association of Industry & Commerce (DAIC), also congratulated the participants on their success and testimony to embracing this training opportunity, which has the power to drive innovation and strengthen their communities.
IsraAID is committed to ongoing support for small community businesses with a proactive approach to help small businesses better prepare for, and respond to potential challenges, enhancing their resilience and long-term sustainability. In 2024, we will be looking at other communities in Dominica with a focus on conducting comprehensive risk assessments and business impact analysis and working closely with small community businesses to develop business continuity plans, outlining clear strategies for maintaining critical functions even in the face of disruptions.
