Youth Development Division to Host Youth Empowerment Forum 2025 Empowering Young Minds for a Brighter Future

The Youth Development Division of the Ministry of Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development will host its Youth Empowerment Forum 2025 on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, at the Dominica Public Service Union (Downstairs), beginning at 9:00 AM.

This event marks the official conclusion of the November 2024 – March 2025 cycle of the Youth Skills Training Programme (YSTP) and will bring together over 30 trainees from across the Roseau, South, and East districts. The Forum is designed to provide these young participants with practical tools, insights and inspiration as they prepare to enter or re-enter the workforce and pursue entrepreneurial paths.

Themed “Empower yourself with knowledge, seize opportunities, and create the future you envision,” the Forum will feature a dynamic program of presentations and panel discussions, highlighting essential services and support available through national agencies and financial institutions.

Key Highlights Include:

  • Keynote Address by Hon. Oscar George, Minister of Youth
  • Panel discussions with representatives from:
    o Dominica Youth Business Trust (DYBT)
    o National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD)
    o Environmental Health Unit
    o Inland Revenue Division
    o Dominica Social Security
    o Bureau of Standards
    o Dominica Aid Bank
  • Inspirational stories from young entrepreneurs
  • Q&A sessions, interactive engagement, and a special performance by Shanice LangfordT

The event serves not only as a celebration of the trainees’ progress but as a strategic platform to connect them with real-world opportunities and support systems that can propel them toward meaningful and sustainable employment or business ventures.
