West Indies sweep series victory with a 10-wicket win against England

Following two drawn test matches against England, the West Indies cricket team started the third and final test on March 24th 2022.

After a hard fought maiden test century from Joshua Da Silva and a maiden five-wicket haul from Kyle Mayers, the West Indies clinched an edge in what appeared to be a low scoring match.

On the fourth day of the final test, England was bowled out with only a 27-run lead which West Indies quickly obtained, winning the final test and the series by 1-0.

Notably, Joshua Da Silva was named Man of the Match while West Indies Captain Kraigg Brathwaite captured the Man of the Series and the leading run-scorer with a total of 341 runs.

While the West Indies culminates their series, the West Indies women’s team is set to compete against Australia in the semi-finals of the Women’s ODI World Cup on March 29th 2022 at 6:00pm.

Stephanie Taylor, West Indies women’s captain voiced, “Time to step up our game as we’ve got another shot at Australia. I’m ready for more cricket.”

As the Caribbean prepares for more cricket, it is the hope of many that both the men and women’s team emerge victorious.
