The Wenham Sheppard Possie Cup Invitational kicked off on March 5, 2026, at Benjamin Park with an exciting and hard-fought encounter between Roosevelt Skerrit Bombers FC and Marigot United FC, ending in a thrilling 3–3 draw.
Bombers FC made a fast start when Devon George opened the scoring in the 4th minute. Moments later, Marigot United conceded an own goal, giving Bombers an early 2–0 advantage.
The match quickly became intense, prompting firm action from Referee Sabin, who made it clear early that discipline would be maintained throughout the contest.
In the 11th minute, Vincent Joseph of Bombers FC was issued a yellow card, and just a minute later in the 12th minute, Ursha George also received a yellow card. The disciplinary action continued in the 19th minute when Richardo Leblanc was shown a yellow card.
Also in the 19th minute, Vincent Joseph received his second yellow card, resulting in a red card and reducing Bombers FC to ten men early in the match.
Despite playing with a man down, Bombers FC continued to push forward and maintained their attacking presence.
Marigot United pulled one back when Stephan Martin scored in the 26th minute, sending the teams into halftime with Bombers leading 2–1.
Bombers extended their lead just before halftime when Devon George scored again in first-half stoppage time (45+ minute) to give Bombers a 3–1 advantage at the break.
The second half saw Marigot United mount an impressive comeback. Beron Abraham scored in the 55th minute, and Raheem Bazil converted a penalty in the 61st minute to level the match at 3–3.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but the match ended in an entertaining draw that set an exciting tone for the tournament.
