According to reports from the Ministry of Health, there is another case of COVID-19 in Dominica.
National Epidemiologist Dr.Shaluddin Ahmed confirmed this information on Wednesday at the press briefing of the Ministry of Health.
He said, “The last two cases were detected on August 28 and 31. Both of these are imported cases”.
The two individuals were screened and placed in quarantine prior to tests confirming their positive status.
He continued, “One of them is a 34 year old female and the other one is a 22 year old male. Both are asymptomatic and currently they are at the COVID Centre”.
According to Dr. Ahmed, contact tracing has so far identified a total of 18 contacts from both of these
individuals; 2 have returned negative PCR tests and the 16 others will be tested at
an appropriate time when viral loads are likely to be higher.
